Easy Baby Corner Fold Card to Make

This is a simple Baby Corner Fold Card.  I thought I had made a corner fold card before but no.  So I designed one.  You can easily change it for a girl, boy or make it gender neutral.

We need something to celebrate now days.  What better than a new baby?  This card can easily be customized and fits in an A2 envelope for mailing.

You will need:
        • Heavy 2 sided cardstock for the base
        • Various Cardstock scraps
        • Pen
        • Glue
        • Download File
Paper Selection

The base card for this Baby Corner Fold card does have to be two sided paper and fairly heavy (100 lb. wt. at least).  I wouldn’t use pattern for the base card but the purple or blue could be patterned as long as the pen shows up on the purple.  The blue (or pink) and the purple can be any weight.

Cutting the Baby Corner Fold Card

The Cricut will do all the writing.  I used a blue Cricut pen but you can use any pen in your Cricut.  See the trick here.  I used a font called French Script on the inside of this card.  You can get it for free and DaFontFree.com.

If you want to change this card to a girl card or gender neutral, just change the blue to pink for a girl or make it gender neutral by making the blue purple like the rest of the card embellishments.

BTW, for the people new to Cricut, when I first starting using Design Space, I incorrectly assumed that the color of the mat meant I had to use that color.  Actually the Cricut will cut whatever paper you load, no matter the color.  Seems obvious, but that was a real light bulb moment for me.

Assembling the Baby Corner Fold Card

This one is real easy to make.  Start by re-creasing the fold line.  The top corner folds diagonally along the fold line.  The third picture above shows the card without that corner folded over and the first picture shows the fold completed.

Before the corner is folded over, glue the “Baby” overlay to the front in the corner formed below the fold over piece.  (See the first picture above.) Next fold the corner over and glue the piece with the baby paraphernalia on it.  Lastly, glue the piece with the feet cut out under the folded over corner.  The front is now done.

For those of you that don’t know, I use Art Glitter glue almost exclusively.  Click the link to order it from Amazon.  With the metal tip attached, this is the best glue out there.  The only drawback is that if it gets too cold, It freezes and doesn’t work right.  So the company doesn’t ship anywhere under 40 degrees.  Order enough in the Fall to last through the Winter.

Next, open the baby corner fold card leaving the corner folded over.  On the left side, glue the feet.  I used the cut outs from the front piece here, but you don’t have to.  Next glue the stork between the writing on the purple overlay.  And finally glue the overlay to the right inside of the card.

And your Baby Corner Fold Card is done!  See wasn’t that easy?  It fits into an A2 envelope for mailing. Or you can make your own envelope following the tutorial here.
