Coffin Easel Card for Halloween

This Coffin Easel Card is sooo cute.  Any kid would love to get this card.  And only a kid would appreciate the joke.  OK, my hubby liked the joke but he says he is really 12 anyway.

It is a simple card to make and takes an A2 envelope.  Send it to your favorite ghoul today.

You will need:

        • Heavy cardstock for the base
        • a scrap of cardstock for the skull
        • Pen
        • Glue
        • Foam Tape
        • Download File
Paper Selection

I made this card in orange but a small and/or a light pattern works too.  If you use a darker color you would need a light gel pen for the writing.  Did you know that you can use any pen in your cricut.? Learn the trick here.

Cutting the Coffin Easel Card

Cut the card base and the cricut will do the writing.  I used a black pen.  I used the font Danken Stripes on this card.  It fills in nicely.  You can get it at Font Bundles.

The skull is pretty small.  Make sure you don’t lose it like I did.

Assembling the Coffin Easel Card

After cutting, re-crease the folds and fold both score lines.  Then attach the top of the coffin to the top of the inside of the base card.  Do not glue the bottom of the coffin or your card won’t work right.  Make sure the card works properly.

Next attach the skull between the top of the bones on the inside of the base card with foam tape.  This allows it to “catch” the coffin and hold it open.

And your Halloween Coffin Easel card is finished.

What kid wouldn’t love to get this card?
