Concentric Angels Wall Hanging

I made this Concentric Angel Wall Hanging while trying to teach myself to make the layered mandala projects. This is the next step.   I thought they would make perfect gifts.  Work on the mandalas continues.  There is another project with the same angel but the gaps gradually fill in.  Make sure you look at it too.

The project is 5 layers, shrinking each layer just a little and centering it. It creates a wonderful effect and is really easy.  I attached it to 12 X 12 cardstock with the intension of framing it.

You will need:
        • cardstock in various shades
        • cardstock for the background
        • Glue
        • Frame (12 X 12)

Paper Selection for Concentric Angel Wall Hanging

This project can be made with any paper.  The colors for the angels should be in the same color family.  Patterns would look very weird for everything but the background mat colors.

Cutting the Sign

Start with the darkest layer and cut the designs upward in hue and layer.  This is a must!

The lines are very thin and the two of the center pieces are not attached.  Be careful removing them from the mat.  Don’t loose the center pieces.

Assembling the Concentric Angels Wall Hanging

As you cut the layers, build up from the bottom.  Center the pieces to the piece below it.  Glue each layer to the one below it before you cut the next layer.  Do the same thing for the little center pieces that aren’t attached.  You will attach them once you attach it to the base cardstock.

You can glue the layers together with liquid glue.  Foam tape adds more dimension to the project but the pieces are too thin.

Once the layers are all together, glue the whole thing to a 12 X 12 piece that goes with your color scheme. Glue the layered little pieces to the center where they belong.  You can put the paper in a 12 X 12 frame (I didn’t have any laying around)

And your Concentric Angels Wall Hanging is done.
