Daisy Accordion Card for Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is one of the most important card holidays.  This Daisy Accordion Card is 3-D and tells mom how special she is.

Don’t forget your Mom this Mother’s Day.  She will love this beautiful daisy accordion card.  And she will be grateful that you are thinking of her on her day.  Make it in her favorite colors because daisies come in almost every color.

You will need:

        • Heavy  cardstock for the base
        •  Scraps of cardstock
        • Pen
        • Glue
        • Download File
Paper Selection

My mother-in-law loves purple so I made her daisies purple.  My Mom loves pink so I would have made these daisies pink for her.  You should make your daisies in the favorite color of your Mom.  They can even be patterned or all one color.  Your imagination is your only limit.

Cutting the Card

Cut the card out and the Cricut will do the writing.  I used a black pen.  The Design Space card uses a cricut font in Access. The SVG uses a font called Baby Wildly  that you can get for free at dafont.com

Did you know that you can use almost any pen in your cricut?  See the trick here.

Assembly

First you need to glue the centers on the folded daisies.  Make sure you line up the score line so that both parts fold properly.  Fold all the daisies for the center accordian and set them in a stack.  One set at a time glue two of the petals from each flower to the next flower a little less than half way down the petal.

The placement inside the card is flexible but you want the end daisies out far enough that they open properly.  I places mine so that the end flowers were about 1/2 inch from the edges of the card but yours can be more or less.  The further out you put them the wider the daises open up.

Take the stack and lay it one one side of the card about where you want it to be.  Put glue on the top flower (only the half showing since they are folded in half) and close the card.  Give the glue a couple of minutes to dry then flip the card over and repeat the gluing process for the other end of the chain.  Open the card and make sure that everything opens properly.  The flowers should look like this:

Now assemble the embellishments on the front of the card.  Look at the pictures if you need help.  Finally wrap the card band around the card loosely and glue it in the front.  Then glue the medallion over the joint.  This keeps the card closed for mailing and ads just a bit more class to the card.  And isn’t your Mom worth it?

Your Daisy Accordion Card for Mother’s Day is done and it fits nicely in an A2 envelope.
