I created this double flip Christmas tree card over a year ago but I could never get it to work. Recently I have been going through my old projects and reworking the ones I couldn’t figure out to see if I’ve gotten any better. I guess I have because I fixed it.
This double flip card features four different trees, each with a different pattern. It is truly a testament to the advice to keep trying, you will figure it out.
You will need:
- Heavy cardstock for the base
- various scraps of cardstock
Cutting the card
The green base and the red panels were cut from solid cardstock. I didn’t want to interfere with the patterns on the trees. You might try embossing the red panels for some extra glamour.
Cricut will print/cut the trees. The trees need to be printed on white paper especially if you are using the SVG file so that the background color doesn’t show through.
Assembling the card
First Re-crease all the folds and make sure the card works properly. When closed, both tress should overlap.
Then glue a tree to each side of the tree shaped flipper. Be sure to line them up well so that the card works properly. Then attach the candy canes however you like to the red panels before you glue them onto the card.
Finally, glue the rectangle with the words to the center.
Check to make sure the card works properly. Either tree can be on top when closed.
And your Double Flip Christmas Tree Card is done! Enjoy!
