Make This Easy Folded Frame Christmas Card

Make this Folded Frame Christmas Card and wish everyone a merry and bright holiday season. This card is very easy to make but looks impressive.  And it is non denominational.

This card is 5.5 inches square so you will need a 6 inch square envelope.  If you can’t find one, you can make one using the envelope tutorial here.

You will need:
Paper Selection For the Folded Frame Christmas Card

This card is made with traditional Christmas colors.  The base card does need to be two sided.  So does the red.  The white is done with glitter cardstock to give it a little bling.  Use whatever colors you want as long as the pen shows up on the base card.

Cutting the Folded Frame Christmas Card

Cut the card base and the Cricut will do the writing.  I used a silver Uniball metallic pen for the writing.   Did you know that you can use any pen in your Cricut?  You can see the trick here.  I used a font called Cynthia Script and you can get it at Creative Fabrica.

The snowflake is very thin.  Be careful when removing it from the mat.

Assembling the Folded Frame Christmas Card

This one is real easy to make.  Start by re-creasing all the fold line.  Then fold the frame on the front.  Fold outer diagonals in then fold the inner diagonals out.  Flatten the red piece.  Next glue the green square, the white square and the ornament in the center.  Refold the red piece forming a frame.  You can glue the frame flaps down if you want.  I chose not to.   Glue everything to the center of the large white piece.  Attach the large white piece to the center of the front of the card.

Gluing to glitter cardstock can be difficult.  I prefer Art Glitter Glue to glue everything because of the tip.  It adds glue in very thin lines so you can be very precise.  And it takes a few minutes to set so you can move whatever you are gluing a little.  Art Glitter glue even holds glitter paper to whatever you need to put on it.  It dries clear on everything but acetate, which I need sometimes, because I am messy.

Next open the card and glue the snowflake to the top.  Glue the two stocking pieces together and glue beside the text on the bottom.

And your Folded Frame Christmas Card is done!  See wasn’t that easy?  It fits into an 6 inch square envelope for mailing.
