How to Use The Cricut Mug Press

I finally did it!  I made a live action video!  This video shows you how to make a mug using the Cricut Mug Press.  From taking it out of the box and the trick to make it heat up to how to use sublimation and infusible ink, this video tells you how to do it all!  It even explains how to use non Cricut mugs with your Cricut Mug Press.

What you need:
  • Cricut Mug Press
  • Mugs (even a dollar store mug)
  • Polycrylic (for non infusible ready mugs)
  • Water sprayer
  • Foam Paint Brush
  • Heat Tape
  • Download Files
Preparing Non Cricut Mugs
Using polycrylic you can make any mug “sublimation ready”  That technique is explained in the tutorial on using sublimation on any hard surface and it can be found here.  It is a simple technique and allows you to use Dollar Store mugs in your mugs press.

  1. On my Mac computer with the latest up date the layers panel in Design Space has changed. When you turn the layer off by clicking on the eyeball the area is so grayed out I can not see it. I have spoken with SR. tech at Cricut. I have also posted on 2 other face book pages but it seems that no one has noticed it or it does not bother them. I find it frustrating. I use it a lot and can not see what I have turned off. Would have been a good idea just to have maybe turned the color of the box to pale yellow pink. Will wait to see what happens ..

If any one else is bothered by this please let Cricuct know!!
