Large Bookmarks for Back to School

I was trying to find another back to school themed craft to make.  These bookmarks are large and what I think of when I hear bookmark. I also made small corner bookmarks.

I made these and showed them to my daughter and she laughed at me.  She said “DUH mom, we don’t have books anymore.  Everything is on the computer.”  So I guess that these are for readers too.  And I guess I’m just old because I had books.  Either way these are cute and easy to make.

What you need:
Paper Selection

These really have no paper requirements so use up your scrap box!  Just make sure the pen shows up on the paper.  Some of them have in between layers.  I used vellum but anything will do.

Cutting

For the ones with drawing I used a black gel pen or on the dark one I used a white gel pen.  Using a marker works but you lose some of the detail on the yellow bookmark.

BTW did you know that you can use any pen in your cricut?  Find out how here.

I combined all the small pieces to one mat.  Watch my video if you don’t know how to do that.

Assembly
Look at the picture to see what goes where.  I tried to keep the stuff all together in the download file for each bookmark.  Some things you can attach with tape glue but the little parts need liquid glue.
For the ones with two or three layers be careful where you glue them so that the glue doesn’t come through the holes in the front and back.
