Paper Selection
The base card needs to be two sided because you do see a little of both sides, but not much. Patterns would work well with any part of this card as long as the pen showed up. Just don’t use too many patterns. This would get confusing.
I used a purple and yellow color scheme to illustrate the Complementary Color Scheme. The yellow makes the purple pop and visa versa.
Cutting the Two Pocket Baby Card
Cut the card base and the Cricut will do the writing. I used a gold glitter gel pen. Did you know that you can use any pen in your Cricut? You can see the trick here.
I used one of my own fonts called CMV Pinstripe so that it filled in. You can get more information about my fill in fonts here. They make a tremendous difference in your designs because they fill in and still have some thickness.
The yellow embellishments are very thin and you need to be careful when removing it from the mat.
Assembling the Gatefold Cut Out Card
The first thing you will want to do is put together all the embellishments and the dark purple shapes. Now re-crease all the folds. Hold the base card like in the file with the cut on the right center.

Glue the big dark purple pieces and the yellow square to the card making sure not to glue them over any folds. Hold on to the little triangle for a little bit.
Start by folding the two triangles back. The top right side (the side with the small triangle) is folded left and behind. Next fold the whole bottom up behind the card. Then the blank flap is folded forward. Flip to the front of the card. Glue the little triangle in the top right corner. You can glue the folded pieces together but be sure to leave enough of an opening to fit the tags into them.
Glue the heart and the borders to the light purple square with the writing and glue it inside the card. Assemble the tags and insert some ribbon or string through the holes and tie it. Tuck them into the front of the card.
And your Two Pocket Baby Card is done.
