This Christmas scene step card depicts a Christmas scene with stockings hung by the chimney with care and presents under the tree. Anyone who receives this card will love it!
This card is simple and fun to make. It fits into an A2 envelope for mailing if you fold it up. This would be a great card for a Christmas Card Band. See how to make one here.
You will need:
- Heavy cardstock for the base
- Scraps of cardstock
- Glue
- Download File
Paper Selection for the Christmas Scene Step Card
The paper for the base of this card must be at least 100 lb weight or the card will not stand up. I stuck to mainly Christmas colors. of course. Patterns work great for this card. It does not need to be double sided because you never see the back. I found this great lights patterned paper and used it in place of the white.
Cutting the Christmas Scene Step Card
This is fairly easy to cut. Just keep track of the little pieces. I kept losing the ornaments for the tree. The writing is cut out so you don’t need a pen. Some of the cuts are very intricate so be careful removing them from the mat.
The Design Space File has some lines cut in the fireplace mantle. The SVG File doesn’t have them. It looks just as good without them. Be sure, if using the SVG, to follow the instructions before cutting.
Assembling the Christmas Scene Step Card
Re-crease all the folds. From the bottom back they alternate between a mountain fold, a valley fold and so on..
The packages are assembled and attached to the front face. The piece with Merry Christmas and the tree attach to the next face (skip one section).
The “white” piece is centered on the top section and then the mantle is assembled and places even with the bottom of the overlay. Then assemble the log and holder (I know it has a name but I forgot it) and place it in the open space in the mantle. Next, assemble the stockings and attach to the mantle so that they aren’t hidden by the tree.
The last step is to put the circles on the tree.
And your Christmas Scene Step Card is done! Remember it fits into an A2 envelope and don’t forget to make a Christmas Card Band if you want!
