Make this Flower Pot Card to show your teacher appreciation that they deserve. They give so much and need to be recognized for it. And it has a “secret” message for them, too.
If you follow me you know I hate making envelopes. They just take too much paper and usually don’t fit on a single piece of paper. But I need to get over it and it really isn’t that hard. This one is even lined! I will be adding more in the future.
- Heavy 2 sided cardstock for the base

Paper Selection
The sky is the limit on this teacher appreciation card. The paper for the pots should be two sided but the rest can be any color or weight that works for you. I stuck with shades of pink for the flowers but feel free to change them. The “secret” message rectangle needs to be fairly heavy (110 lb wt. or more) so that it will stand up to being pushed and pulled. The envelope should coordinate but lighter paper works better.
Cutting the Flower Pot card
Cut the card base and the Cricut will do the writing. I used a red gel pen. Did you know that you can use any pen in your Cricut? You can see the trick here. I used a font called Act Justify but I forget where I got it.
Assembling the Teacher Appreciation Flower Pot Card and Envelope
The card is fairly easy to put together. We will do the envelope first though. Start by re-creasing all the folds. Glue the liner onto the envelope , lining up the fold line with the fold line on the top of the envelope. Then fold the sides in with the center bottom folded in first , then the sides. Don’t glue them yet. Take a scoring hand tool and mark where the sides intersect the bottom flap. Pull the sides back up and glue the bottom where the sides intersect it up to the line. Let the glue dry. Fold down the top flap and make sure the envelope can completely cover the card. Be careful not to wrinkle the inner liner. The envelope is now done. Set it aside until the card is assembled.
Assembling the Teacher Appreciation Card
First, re-crease the folds in the pot. Fold the pot in half and fold down the rim. Then glue the edges together. Only put glue just inside the edges or the card will not slide. Do not glue the top.
Then glue the flowers together. Put the largest piece on the bottom and stagger the other two pieces over it. Glue the border on the edge of the pot rim. Next glue the middle of the flowers to the top of the message rectangle. Slide the message card inside the pot and let the flowers overlap the pot on the outside. Lastly assemble the bow and attach it to the top of the pot. Look at the picture if you aren’t sure where things go.
And you Flower Pot Card Teacher Appreciation Card is done! Put it in the envelope and secure it closed with a little glue or a sticker if you want, but you don’t have to.
