Impress everyone with this dynamic Easter flip Card. It is simple to make but kids and grown ups will sit and play with this card for a long time. This is a remake of a card I did last Easter. This version has a lot of changes, no print then cut image and GNOME BUNNIES! I told you they would be back. See the old version here.
These gnome bunnies are slightly different. I used some foam tape to make them three dimensional. If you want to see all the gnome bunny tutorials, click Easter in the menu on the sidebar. They are on that list.
What you need:
- Very heavy cardstock for the base (purple)
- Scraps of cardstock
- Pen
- liquid glue or some tape glue but I recommend liquid
- Foam Tape
- Download file
Paper Selection
The base card for this Easter flip card must be very heavy so that the card can flip multiple times. Use at least 100 lb weight for the base. It also needs to be double sided because you see the back, but I wouldn’t use patterned. The embellishments can be any weight and can be patterned. The bunnies and the Easter eggs are done with a floral patterned paper, even the gnome bunny ears.
Cutting the Easter Flip Card
I used a black pen but feel free to change the color or use the foiling pens, as long as it shows up on the base card. The font used is called AR Christy and you can get it here for free. Did you know that you can use any pen in your Cricut? See the trick here.
You can move the small pieces around your mat so that cutting is quicker. I have a video that shows you how.
Watch my video on cutting different colors on the same mat.
Assembly
Once the base card is cut, re-score the folds with a Popsicle stick. Fold and work the Easter fold card base card a few times to male it easier to operate. Then you want to assemble the embellishments before gluing anything to the card base.
Bunny Gnome Assembly
You may know how to assemble the basic gnome bunny but the 3D version is a slight bit different. First, with foam tape attach the mustache to the beard. Then attach the hat and ears to the back of the mustache. The nose is made from one of the cutouts from the bunnies. Next put some foam tape on the back of the beard and attach it to the card base on the flipper with the writing. Then glue the shoes to the card base under the beard. Look at the pictures above for help if you need it.
Attach all the other embellishments to the card. Notice that one piece of grass is longer than the other. Put the long side on the right.
Your Easter Flip Card is done. Enjoy!
