The second flower for Friday of Flower Week is the Fancy Daisy. I am going to make them from cardstock. This flower doesn’t work well in felt because you can’t shape the petals. You can also see how to do rolled flowers too.
These flowers have 5 different parts in the download file. They go from large to small. You can attach leaves or not. The leaves are in the SVG download file for Monday.
What you will need:
- cardstock scraps
- liquid glue or glue gun
- small brads for centers of flowers
- Download File
Paper Selection
The Fancy Daisy can be cut from any color or patterned cardstock. I cut them all from the same color and that is how a daisy truly looks, but you can cut the layers from different colors if you want. You can even use patterned paper if you want. Your imagination is your only limit.
Cutting the Fancy Daisy
This flower does not work in felt or fabric. The petals are just too thin and ravel too easily if cut from material or felt and they cant be shaped at all which is what makes this flower fancy.
Assembling the Fancy Daisy
First, stack the flowers from largest to smallest. Stagger the petals so that the empty spaces are filled in. Before you place each layer, crease the petals lengthwise so that they fold up. When you have them all crimped and stacked then place the brad through the hole in the center of each layer. This holds the flower together. You can then also attach leaves with glue if you like. The leaves are with Monday’s download.
Be sure to stay with this series all week and see the wreath I make with all my flowers. This is the wreath I made with all the flowers.

I have made a page with all the links to the paper flower tutorials. The tutorials for the other paper and felt flowers from Flower Week can be found here.
