Thanksgiving coloring with paper is so fun because there is no limit to the color combinations. You can make wonderful embellishments for cards and scrapbook pages. And it is so relaxing. If you love this technique as much as I do or you are just curious, see other Coloring with Paper projects here.
If you need to, read the general instructions before you start. If you have done other coloring with paper projects, you may not need to. Once you are sure you understand the basics, download the Thanksgiving coloring with paper SVG File. The instruction sheet in the download file explains how to upload it to Design Space.
You will need:
- black cardstock (Where I get the brand I use)
- Various color scraps
- Tweezers
- Liquid glue
- Contact paper
- Scissors
- Download File
Paper Choice and Cutting
First, cut the outline from the black cardstock. Do not make the file any smaller than 4 inches tall or the black lines get too thin. This makes the all the Thanksgiving projects a good size for cards and scrapbook pages.
Then, stick the outline to the contact paper and re-cover it with the protective backing paper.
Finally, cut out the various pieces from paper scraps in your scrap bin. I stuck mostly to fall colors but use whatever you like. You can use any color or patter or weight paper you want. Just fill them in with paper that looks good to you. You will be cutting the projects several times to get all your colors. Keep the outlines. They are very useful as embellishments too.
Placing the Pieces
Start placing the various colored pieces on the projects inside the outlines with the tweezers. With the pie you will have to place the outside crust first, then place the black outline around it.
DO NOT TOUCH THE STICKY SHEET WITH YOUR FINGERS
When all the open spaces are filled, check to make sure all the paper is secure. Press the protective sheet over everything and press sorta hard. Anything that seems loose, glue down with the liquid glue and let dry for at least 30 minutes.
Finally, with scissors cut around the outside leaving as much of the outside black line as you can. Some of the pieces have more outline than others.
Use the finished pieces as you like. They make great embellishments for cards or scrapbook pages. You can make a lots of simple cards using the blank cards you bought a while ago. I plan to use the turkey on a scrapbook page. I will post it when it’s done.
