World’s Greatest Dad Card

I know your Dad is the World’s Greatest Dad.  So was mine.  But does he know it?  Remind him on Father’s Day with this World’s Greatest Dad card.  He will LOVE it.  And it is easy to make.

This center step card is a variation on the side step card.  And it fits into an A7 envelope for mailing.

You will need:
Paper Selection

The base of the World’s Greatest Dad card needs to be fairly heavy, but if you don’t use heavy paper you can put the light brown piece on the back for support.  Patterns would work well with any part of this card.  Just don’t use too many patterns.  This would get confusing.

Cutting the card

There is no writing on this card.  All the lettering is cut out.  If you use fairly heavy paper you don’t need the light brown piece on the back side.  Just hide it.  I used not so heavy paper and had to cut the support and it worked so I am telling you how to fix the problem.

The lettering is extremely thin though.  Be very careful removing it from the mat.

Assembling the World’s Greatest Dad Card

First re-crease all the folds.  The fold at the center of the card is a mountain fold.  The other folds starting at the front is a mountain fold and then alternate to the back with the last fold being a mountain fold.

I would lay the whole card flat like the second picture to attach the embellishments.  It is just easier.  Next the light brown layers go on.  If you aren’t using the back layer of light brown just sit it aside, but I encourage you to use it.  It can’t hurt.  Attach a light brown piece to the two front facing pieces, after the second and forth fold in the center and glue the lettering pieces to them.

Finally glue the ties and the socks together and attach them to the front of the card.

And your World’s Greatest Dad card for Father’s Day is done.  It fits in an A7 envelope for mailing
